- Best for
- All-round SEO, paid search and AI visibility
Semrush is the broadest marketing toolset of the major SEO platforms. Alongside organic search it covers paid ads, social, content and, more recently, visibility inside AI answer engines.
Who Semrush is for
Agencies and in-house teams that need one subscription to cover several disciplines. If your reporting spans organic, paid and social, consolidating into Semrush is usually cheaper than three tools.
Specialists often prefer Ahrefs for link data. Semrush wins on breadth, not on depth in any single area.
Which Semrush plan should you pick?
The SEO plan at $139 a month, or $117.33 billed annually, covers five sites and 500 daily tracked keywords with AI visibility reports included.
Starter at $199 a month, or $165.17 annually, adds 300 AI visibility reports a day and 50 tracked prompts.
Pro+ at $299, or $248.17 annually, raises that to 15 sites, 1,500 keywords and 100 prompts. Advanced at $549, or $455.67 annually, gives 40 sites, 5,000 keywords and 200 prompts.
Note that the plan names changed. If you are comparing against older guides mentioning Pro, Guru and Business, those tiers no longer match what Semrush sells.

Semrush FAQs
Is there a free Semrush plan?
There is a limited free account with a small number of daily requests, plus a seven-day trial of the paid tiers. Serious use requires a subscription.
How much does Semrush cost?
The SEO plan is $139 a month, Starter $199, Pro+ $299 and Advanced $549. Annual billing brings those to $117.33, $165.17, $248.17 and $455.67.
What happened to the Pro, Guru and Business plans?
Semrush restructured its line-up. The current tiers are SEO, Starter, Pro+ and Advanced, so older comparison guides no longer match what is on sale.
What is AI visibility tracking?
It monitors how often your brand appears in answers from AI search tools, and tracks specific prompts. Starter allows 50 prompts a day, Pro+ 100 and Advanced 200.
How many keywords can I track?
500 a day on SEO and Starter, 1,500 on Pro+ and 5,000 on Advanced.
Is Semrush better than Ahrefs?
For breadth, yes. It covers paid search, social and content alongside SEO. Ahrefs still has the better backlink index.
Are extra users included?
No. Additional seats are charged on top of every plan, which is a significant cost for agencies.
Where does the 4.4 rating come from?
It is the aggregate score from 4,026 reviewers on G2, checked 12 August 2026. It is not our own hands-on test score.
